Most applications are processed within 3–7 business days.

To avoid delays, please be prepared to provide:

  • one month of documented income
  • rental references for the past three years
  • employment verification

Prompt responses to any follow-up requests help us move your application along as quickly as possible.

Rent is due at move-in and then on the 1st of each month thereafter. We offer a grace period through the 5th, but a late fee will be applied on the 6th if payment has not been received. If you move in on the 25th or later, rent for both the current month and the next month will be due at move-in.

Yes, we are a pet-friendly community and we have amenities just for them! Breed restrictions, limits, and related fees apply. Please review our Pet Policy or contact our Leasing Team for full details. Visiting pets are not permitted.

Pet Policy: Animals (including mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, rodents, and insects) are not allowed, even temporarily, anywhere in the apartment or apartment community unless we've so authorized in writing.  There is a one-time non-refundable fee of $300.00 for the 1st animal and a $150.00 fee for the 2nd animal. The monthly rent will increase by $25.00 per month per animal. There is a two-animal maximum.  The following breed restrictions apply: Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Chow, Akita, German Shepherd, Mastiff, Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Presa Canario, Wolf Hybrids, Alaskan Husky, Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Malamute, and any mixture of these breeds. Reptiles, ferrets and rabbits are prohibited.   

We do not currently offer general discounts but we do have a Preferred Employer Program. Please contact our Leasing Team to see if your employer qualifies.

Yes. All households must maintain renter’s insurance with a minimum of $300,000 in personal liability coverage and list Lakefield Mews Apartments and Townhomes as an Interested Party. For your convenience, we have partnered with ResidentShield, a trusted provider offering affordable coverage that meets all community requirements. Signing up is quick and easy, and policies are automatically shared with our office, saving you time and ensuring compliance from day one. 

Our floor plans are equipped with washer/dryer hook-ups. Residents may bring their own washer/dryer with them, or for those who’d prefer to rent the equipment, we suggest you contact: www.appliancewhse.com (or any company of your choice). Additionally, we have an on-site laundry facility. 

Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All vehicles must be street-legal, and our parking layout generally accommodates two vehicles per household.

We use an environmentally friendly trash compactor system that’s included at no additional cost. This system reduces landfill impact and fuel usage, eliminates unsightly dumpsters, discourages pests and scavenging, and frees up parking space. The cost savings allow us to continue offering this service free of charge to our residents.

Lakefield Mews is situated in the eastern part of the Richmond metropolitan area, in Henrico County just off of Laburnum Avenue near I-64. This location places the community within easy driving distance of downtown Richmond, major employers, shopping, dining, and entertainment throughout the Richmond area. 

Lakefield Mews is conveniently situated just about 10-15 minutes from Richmond International Airport (RIC) and about 1.5 hours - 2 hour from Norfolk International Airport (ORF) making it easy for residents to travel for work or leisure.
